International Conference on the Application of Raman Spectroscopy in Art and Archaeology
Dear RAA Community,
We are delighted to welcome you to the 12th edition of the International Conference on the Application of Raman Spectroscopy in Art and Archaeology (RAA2025) in Pisa, Italy, from 3 to 6 September 2025.
The Conference will be hosted by the Italian National Research Council CNR in Pisa, organized by the Institute of Chemistry and Organometallic Compounds (CNR-ICCOM), in collaboration with the Department of Earth Sciences of the University of Florence and the Department of Civilization and Form of Knowledges of the University of Pisa.
The conference will be introduced by a two-day RAA Training School (1-2 September 2025) which will be hosted by the University of Pisa.
Since the very first RAA conference, organized in London in 2001, followed by the one in Ghent (2003) and then in Paris (2005), Modena (2007), Bilbao (2009), Parma (2011), Ljubljana (2013), Wroclaw (2015), Évora (2017) Potsdam (2019), and Athens (2023) these meetings focus on Raman spectroscopy and its capacity to unravel the mysteries of art and archaeology. By bringing together scientists from the humanities and natural sciences, they fostered interdisciplinary connections and advanced the field of archaeometry.
On behalf of the organizing and the scientific committees, we kindly invite you to the 12th International Conference on the Application of Raman Spectroscopy in Art and Archaeology (RAA2025)
